[book] “the Ill Gentleman”

a book that supposedly does not exist (May exist in an anthology entitled “one iota of sacrificial martyrs”) penned by Dernst in the late 1400s and rumored to be in Nathanial Montgomery’s collection.

The Ill Gentleman is supposedly about a rivalry between two men. The protagonist is so devoured with dislike for his rival that he dedicates himself to caring for him nursing him back to health (possibly after poisoning him several times) any time he becomes sick just so he will continue to live and presumably suffer as he survives to see himself grow old, wither, and his loved ones pass before him.
