| This takes place shorty after Dewy Four Seasons Post Dewy: Now we gotta get through some of this though. First, unless we go some whole other direction, I gotta see what they are drawing. I don't have this Ankroptic stuff memorized. I don't suppose any of you have the actual spell do you? And I'm going to need to know what you want old Dewy to do. I also think you two, (he points at Lucien and Percival) should arrive, fashionably late. I can meet you by the gates and walk you in and that way, I can give you a run down on things just in case something is off. Now I gotta testify, because, I gotta be up close anyway and I'll wing up a testimony. Maybe it will be best if at least one of you holds back a bit, maybe both if you want. Once I see this summoning, again, if we are doing that, I can get an idea of what state I'll be in after empowering it. I mean, it might knock me on my ass so it would be nice if someone pulls me out of there if we are going the whole Ankroptic might kill everyone route. Now if I'm giving a testimony, I'll try to walk around a bit and if I've identified anyone, I'll...I don't know...adjust my hood or something right? A secret signal to keep your eye on them. Erin: You aren't going teach me how to... Dewy: Yeah, no, no I'm not. ...Let's go have a little chat. Dewy and Erin will move away to a further part of the suit. Though they've moved away they aren't entirely out of earshot. Because it is late: Dewy basically questions her, seeming to try to understand how devoted she is. - Successful Listen Check:
Dewy seems to take most her answers at face value. Erin got involved in her early teens shortly after putting up a lot of resistance about going to church. The Minister that introduced her was named Lutz. Unsurprisingly he told her how special her and her family were and Ankroptic would reveal a purpose to her.
Dewy asks her about her PI practice and it seems to be pretty self sufficient though Dewy questions the ease at which she got her initial loan to get started. He tries to get some info about if she does jobs for S6 or Ankroptic followers but she doesn't seem to know if she directly has or not. She at least, from what she is saying, she has not.
Dewy asks about her tattoo and she says Lutz encouraged her to get it and she did after turning 18. She claims to have heard Ankroptic through it after first getting it.
Erin, early as a PI, did dig a bit deeper into Lutz, her church, and other members and started becoming aware of S6 and the expansive Ankroptic network. She was finding Lutz and others taking trips that there was no accounting for in which receipts just ran dry. This led her to believe others were supplying perks, like free hotels, gas, etc. It also made tracking them difficult. She has, throughout the years, found other followers outside of her congregation. She wasn't surprised, it's like a large church after all, but did start feeling she deserved a higher position but there seemed to be no way she could move up. She also shows irritation at how little the church does for followers. She sees her place as becoming a representative for "common" followers. She never went out on any missionary work.
When investigating the Ellis House and meeting with Gordon Smallwood she realized Ankroptic was involved. Gordon showed signs that throughout the years she had heard mention of as signs he was falling out with Ankroptic and, as you all are aware, saw it as a sign that fate had brought her there.
She had originally thought she'd end up confronting, and taking the position of Lark Howell, who she thinks she identified as a S6 priest. Dewy points out the fact she can't summon might be evidence it isn't "fate" or whatever. (Dewy isn't so eloquent in trying to make an argument about it.) But she seems convinced that after the test she will be taught, or granted the ability by Ankroptic. She suggests slightly at one point that she will succeed because Ankroptic will hear her, at which point Dewy points out he isn't here because someone needs to serve mash potatoes.
Erin asks Dewy about his involvement. Dewy does say he spent awhile in S6, and knew Landry but he could see through their BS. It starts to get a bit confrontational at this point as Dewy points outs, "Look, you've been in since what you were 12, 13 and never got even close to being even introduced to anyone. They, approached me toots. What's that tell you?"
Returning from talking to her Dewy will find a time when she is out of ear shot or asleep, pour himself a glass of alcohol and say: "Well, she's pretty convicted. How do you even talk someone out of something, it's not like you can prove there's no Ankroptic. She's just going to have to realize Ankroptic doesn't give a hoot about her. Fake it till you make it I guess. I don't think they had any plans for her. It's possible they use or have used, or her as a PI in the south but I don't think she was going anywhere. Shame too, she could sure easier on the eyes than all those stuffy old men. That stomach is flat, have you seen how flat that stomach is?" | |
