Dewy's Notebooks Empty
PostSubject: Dewy's Notebooks   Dewy's Notebooks EmptyMon Aug 16, 2021 2:19 am

I'm going to refer to these as singular notebooks even though the information is likely spread across several different ones.

Daddy's Spell Book

Summon Novelty Item
This is a series of spells, eventually distilled down to a single spell.
This series of spells are capable of summoning all manor of rather insignificant novelty items.

Summon Poor Paul
Paul seems to be an individual actual person that Dewy has repeatedly summoned to the point that he has lost his mind...or at least his career, family and home.
Paul seems to be referred to as "dhmuyichzaaninmyboazh."
"dhmuyichzaaninmyboazh" appears again in Dewy's personal notes as something a sleep study patient kept muttering. There is no information on how Dewy came across this information.
According to notes Dewy usually was able to keep Paul around for 4 to 17 minutes before Paul seemed to go away. However Dewy does note that one of the last summons Paul didn't seem to be leaving, at which point Dewy blindfolded Paul, drove him to the bus station, then let him go. Dewy notes Paul knows he was in Atlanta, but had no other way to identify where exactly he was being summoned.
Dewy's notes express confusion as to why Paul stayed that time and marks the moment Dewy starts expressing concern about summoning Paul again.

Transport Novelty Item
These spells seem to be the opposite of summoning.
Dewy doesn't seem to have perfected this. According to his notes Dewy was able to send items away but was never able to determine where they went or send them to specific places.

Summon Corvette
Though the notebook contains a variety of failed attempts at summoning car parts, Dewy appears to have successfully the corvette he drove. He describes having found the corvette in a barn in Delaware. He doesn't reveal the exact location but does describe it as abandoned.
Dewy fixed and repaired the corvette and was able to summon it multiple times to different locations.

Summon Portal/Open Portal 1 Though marked "1" there are actually a series of multiple versions of these.
Version of this spell should also look fairly familiar as it largely mimics ruins found on the shed floor where the meek were first encountered, as well as looking similar, (but laid out in a sensical formatted way) to the runes found in the basement of the hell house.
Note suggest this opens a sort of general portal to somewhere. It describes a pissy green and/or yellow haze which eventually "worm like spots" begin emerging.
Crossing some notes up suggests (According to Dewy) the deeper/thicker the haze the dirtier the portal is.
There is no indication of where the portal is opening to. Dewy would appear to not know.
The portal is one way. You can't cross through the portal. Dewy notes trying to throw (and push) varies things into the circle but they went nowhere.
Dewy notes the longer the portal is open the stranger it gets and the more things that try to come through which leads him to speculate that wherever it goes it must attract things toward to it, or "this" side attracts things, or "we" attract the things.
Dewy notes a number of side effects including a withdrawal feeling and arousal.
Later notes suggest Dewy wondered if the "cleaner" versions of the spell were connecting to the graylands with "dirtier" versions connecting to something in between.

This set of spells contain several iterations mostly the same. Crossing with Landry's versions Dewy has kept the circle of protection portion intact and doesn't note it as a separate spell or pieces. Dewy does note one swappable difference with what seems to be the summoning portion. This swap set of runes he refers to as "agitated summoning."
Summon Ankroptic
This is the, unsurprisingly, the same set of spells Landry had.
Summon Bispithuel
This spell is nearly identical to Summoning Ankroptic but with one difference, presumably being the name of the being. Dewy makes no comments on who or what or a description but does note that "agitated summoning" part doesn't seem to work on it though it does seem it will still summon it.
Summon Haz Mit Al
Summon Kor Ma Ca

Summon Moorn
Spell is marked as not having worked and appears he was working on it.

The X'ed out spells
There are multiple iterations of various spells which are X'ed out or have notes to never try again.
Summon Sand
Summon Air
Summon a previous date
Summon Death
Summon (various body parts)
Summon (various abstract concepts)
Dewy appears to have tried to summon things like "creativity" "beauty" "knowledge"  all to no success.
Summon a mermaid with cheese feet
Dewy appears to have tried to make up a creature. IE: This would seem to be him trying to create something, as opposed to summoning it, and it didn't work.
Summon (Dewy has translated this as "So Em Ba See'er)
This spell is heavily X'ed out and nearly unreadable. He seems to have done this with someone. Parts of the spell are marked as not having worked (presumable the protection parts) and says the creature immediately gutted and disemboweled the caster.

Heist Notebook
This notebook outlines efforts and plans to steal the engraved "knitting needle" from the British Museum.
The notes include information on geology, dating stones, types of stone work found around England, what the museum might be interested in...etc...
His basic plan seemed to be to create stones with ruins, pass them off as real artifacts, have the British Museum collect them, assemble them, then he would "teleport" in, steal the needle, and leave.

Italy Notebook
This notebook details plans out details for moving and getting the bells to Italy. Includes real estate listings, locations, rent listings, etc.
Also includes information as Dewy seemed to be fishing out specifics for customs operations, shipping rates, etc.
Dewy also toys with moving to Italy and trying to summon the bells, or "pushing" them through from the US to Italy. He sketches several possible spells but does not appear to have tried any of them on the Bells.

Graylands Notebook 1
Notes mostly consist on his attempts to solve issues treking through the graylands.
A large portion is dedicated efforts to deal with what he describes as dust storms. Includes information on hazmat suits, handling and working in hazardous sites and conditions. Companies specializing in hazmat equipment, etc etc.

Graylands Notebook 2
Consists of notes on his travels through the graylands. Dewy didn't keep too many notes on specifics.
Meek - Dewy doesn't refer to them as Meek but by the description is seems to be who he is talking about. Dewy calls them "hidey things." He notes they seem mostly harmless unless startled. He notes having seen them on occasion crawl into places that don't seem to exist.

Flying egg things - Dewy notes they seem to survive mostly on the Meek and left him alone.

Etunaz - Dewy calls them "mammoths"
Dewy notes great fields of them. He seems to have mostly skirted around them. He notes hallucinations but then describes them as nonvisual.

Spines - Dewy briefly describes a creature he calls "spines." He describes them as looking a bit like a spinal column with a sticky resin like "face" with pinchers sticking out.

Grim Reaper Floater - Dewy describes a creature which looks like a half a skeleton grim reaper that floats around.

Dunlap (Balls Belly) - Dewy describes a creature, over seven feet tall, with a large "ball sack" like belly that hangs to its knees and alien head.

Bulbous Thing 1- Dewy's stick man drawing looks like a squiggle with legs.

Skinny Web Like Thing - According to his notes this is a sticky resin covered large semi-humoid creature. Dewy speculates that Spines crawl inside Meek, and birth these, which in turn seem to hunt Meek.

Bulbous Thing 2 - Dewy describes is as similar to Bulbous Thing 1 but with more pronounced ribcage like thing that stretches and heaves.

Famine Kids - Described as looking like a lot of starving kids sharing a torso with five or so arms.

Loralei - Dewy is sparse on descriptions, describing her only as draped in black gown of sheets with seemingly endless chains, and carrying two bells. He writes quite a bit about "her" but in a pining sort of poetic musing way that doesn't seem to be very informative. He does seem to have watched her for quite some time. He notes she marched from the tree at regular intervals ringing the bells at which things would suddenly die around her. He also notes that at other times she would caress the tree and trace unseen markings with a finger and seem to blend with it. Usually after one of these sessions she would emerge and give a single ring of the bells. He does note that on occasion she would set the bells down, take several paces away from them and seem to vanish into a far away distance with the chains stretching out tightly.

Eater of Dead - Dewy describes a creature that would seem to match what was seen emerging at the Hell house. It would come and go out of seemingly nowhere and devour carcasses. He found it mostly harmless but on one occasion got too close to it for too long, at which point the entry simple says "don't linger" with several circles for emphasis around it.

Temple - Dewy came across an area with several pyramid like structures. He hurriedly made several poor sketches. (Dewy's ability to draw doesn't seem to extend beyond stick figures.) He notes various columns and large sarcophaguses. He notes the structures seem to resemble those described as Necromatic.

Playground - Dewy notes the existence of a playground, but doesn't mention if he entered or explored it.

Lighthouse - It doesn't appear there is an actual lighthouse here, just that the entrance from a lighthouse leads here. Piecing together from other notes it appears to be Tevennec lighthouse. "The group" (IE: Melinda and them) practiced opening a gate there.

Tree - The tree is apparently where Dewy stole the bells from.

Dried Lake Bed - Dewy briefly describes an area as a dried lake bed, though he seems to be using the description more to describe the change in terrain rather than stating it is in fact a former lake bed.
On the Map there is a small circle near the edge of the dried lake bed but there are no corresponding notes as to what or why he circled it.

Field of Graves - This seems to be a rocky area where the rocks appear to stick up as if old tombstones.

Personal Notebook 1
This notebook consists mostly of antecedents. Entries are marked with initials. It would seem this is mostly his method of tracking, or trying to track, lies he has told to various people, especially wives and girlfriends.

Personal Notebook 2
This notebook consists mostly of personal ramblings and musings.
Early notes you are able to piece together members of "melinda's group."
Though it appears Dewy was already beginning to distance himself from the group, sometime around planning their trip to the lighthouse Dewy seemed set on leaving completely.
Entries that appear to be post-lighthouse Dewy expresses anger with the group. It is unclear exactly what happened there but Dewy seemed to feel abandoned by the group. His notes suggest their work there got out of control. It is unclear if Dewy took the opportunity to slip away, intentionally into the portal they opened, or if the group shut him in and he went through the portal in a desperate attempt to escape from something they had unleashed.
His notes seem to suggest an uncontrolled chain reaction through which hundreds of Meek (though he wouldn't have known what they were at the time) swarmed through.

Notes also outline bits of his relationship with Landry. Dewy saw him as someone he could possibly pull away from the Ankroptic movement. Dewy seems to have collected money from Landry from time to time and been aware he was skimming to some extent.

Contacts:
Through the various notebooks some contacts and names emerge.
Alexander Kaidanovsky (Also appears in Landry's notebook)
Isobel Southheil - By his notes, seems to be a witch living in Colorado
Ed Cole AKA Acheron - Leader of cult in Louisiana
Professor Freidman -

"Melinda Group"
Melinda Grant - Dewy seems to actually have liked her (not as romance interest but as decent person) though found her "untalented" and more interested in "gadgets" of magic.
Gerald Durham - Dewy seemed fairly indifferent to Gerald but seemed to think he was a "wanna be leader" that kept trying to take control. Notes some mild "talent" but didn't think he'd get any better.
Trevor Fisher - Dewy describes him as ambitious and potentially dangerous.
Matt Santiago - Generally good guy. Dewy speculated he had a thing for Melinda. "Untalented" but adventurous, fearless, and down for almost anything, especially pushing boundaries. Dewy seems to come and go a bit on him sometimes feeling like he is a "hanger on" while other times thinking him genuine.
Patricia Payne - Dewy seems to describe her as an outsider, loner, and sloppy. In some notes he muses that Oltav may have hired her, or being paying her for information, but he later dismisses the idea.
