About Polkdot

Appearance:
Polkdot has deep set wrinkles and a rather unkempt 3 to 4 inch beard.
His body is covered in what appear to autopsy like scars and while he has definite muscle tone, he appears to not have an ounce of body fat on him to almost an unhealthy anorexia like look.
There is an odd rectangular shaped pale spot on his chest similar to if you tanned with some sort of necklace on.
He walks with a bit of a hunch and careful steps.
He is prone to "sundowning" like fits which he seems to cover up with additional grumpiness.

How he learned magic:
Polkdot tells several conflicting stories how he learned magic.
1. Back when the world was flat he attended a scholarly magic school but despite being something of a prodigy he was deemed reckless for questioning the status que and expelled. From there he traveled into the woods and learned from witches, and later joined with several rogue alchemists. He then realized all versions of magic are the same thing and went back to the school to present his findings but was expelled once again. From then on he practiced on his own.
2. No time reference is given but he claims to have seen a spirit which he fell in love with and began studying different forms of magic in an attempt to contact her once again. This led him to realizing all forms of practice are the same thing and are just summoning things.
3. On rare occasions he mentions something about "the experiments" but won't elaborate.

Why is he here?
He has no real answer except why not, one place is as good as another.

How old is he?
He says he doesn't know. He claims to have been at this cabin for one hundred years but that does not align with other stories he tells.

About the scars?
None of your business.

What is going on/happening/why us?
He dodges around questions like this but does explain that supernatural events imprint on people and they can become like magnets and attract more things to them.
He also says that right now there is an excess in "spiritual" energy which seems to be causing more events to occur.
He also says that an excess of spiritual energy usually leads to the demonic lords getting restless and flexing a bit.

Polkdot History: (in the very brief)
The world was created by the They and it was flat.
They created the demonic lords to populate the land. The demonic lords learned of the mantras used to create everything and tried to create their own land but it began to rot. The demonic lords then created sub races to populate the land. This served two purposes. First was to stave off the rot by providing more spiritual energy and the second was to serve them.
These sub races were: "humans of which there were two types, dwarves, elves of which there were two types, Mourn and clernics." (Though not quite in the conventional sense you know them.) These sub races learned to use mantras and rebelled against the demonic lords.
During this rebellion the sub races managed to imprison Nosfender in another voidal plain and the demonic lords fled.
Darconoff then realized their limitations with mantras and invented the runic system as a way to tap into the mantras they could not use. Using this system he built hell and the hells.
The lords were eventually able to free Nosfenderr who then returned to their land to extract revenge.
Eventually the land died and the They decided to try to again and wiped everything out. The demonic lords however survived because they had gone back to their new stable hells land.
Then the They created this world and populated it with a humans based on the humans sub race and unlike with the demonic lords, they didn't give them any power.

Polkdot will point out that as brief as that history is, it does demonstrate though something very important.
While the "rule" is everything that is summoned must return, Nosfentor being trapped on another plain of existence demonstrates that that "rule" is somehow breakable.

Closest I can probably come to a picture of Polk. Beard is more unkempt and shaggy, and he's a bit thinner.
