Police have arrested exotic dancer Paul Held, aka Coco Nuts, for the murder of Humphrey. Neighbors have expressed their shock and described him as a quiet man that mostly kept to himself but that carried the christmas spirit with him everyday and he would often cut the grass dressed as santa claus.
While a motive has not yet been released police say they have video footage of Coco Nuts and a possible accomplice, Nelson Jones, also known as Captain Seaman, identified as arriving at Humphrey's house dressed as elves.
One neighbor who lives next door and wanted to remain anonymous said Humphrey would have likely trusted elves and let them in.
Others in the neighborhood reiterated that Humphrey's carried the christmas spirit with him every day and even in the middle of July would let the neighborhood children sit on his lap. "He told them he was santa and this was his summer home, and it was their little secret."
It is believed Held strangled Humphrey and transported him to a wooded area where he shot Humphrey.
Humphrey's manager at Cox, David Hurd, said he was sorry to hear of Humphrey's passings. When asked about him, he said that he manages a lot of people and can't be expected to remember them all.
Humphrey lived alone with only his cat Mrs. Claws.
